A microschool in Montgomery · Founding class for sixth Grade
Sixth Grade
Is Too Important
To Leave
To Chance.
I’m not opening a school. I’m creating a specialized environment for sixth graders.
After 15 years in education, I've learned that sixth grade is unlike any other year. This is when students begin asking bigger questions about themselves, their abilities, their place in the world, and who they are becoming.
EduPrep combines personalized academics and intentional preparation to help students explore those answers with confidence.
The truth
Sixth grade is about more than school.
In sixth grade, kids start asking deeper questions. Most of them, silently.
Who am I?
Where do I fit?
What am I good at?
Can I trust myself?
Do adults really see me?
EduPrep exists because these questions deserve someone who's listening for them.
The goal isn't getting them through sixth grade.
The goal is helping them discover who they are
while they're there.

The flow of the day
Education.
We rebuild foundations.
Most sixth graders who are “falling off” didn’t fall off this year. They fell off earlier — and the system never went back. We don’t guess where your child is. We check. Then we rebuild whatever needs rebuilding, and push the student who’s ready well past grade level. Same classroom. Same teacher. Two completely different paths forward.

Preparation.
We help students discover who they are.
A year of careful, named attention. We give your child hundreds of chances to show up — in projects, in service, in real choices — and we pay attention to what they reach for. Then we name what we see. Until they can name it themselves.
Explore Preparation →Our philosophy
Every child comes with
something worth protecting.
Curiosity. A voice. A way of seeing the world that belongs to no one else. No child shows up empty, waiting to be filled — they arrive already carrying something. We call that their light. Our work was never to decide who your child becomes. It’s to protect what’s already there — and keep it burning through the one year it’s most easily dimmed.
01The belief
No child arrives empty.
They come with curiosity, confidence, imagination — a voice and a way of seeing that belong to no one else. We don’t install a child’s light. We recognize it, name it, and protect it.
02The mission
We’re not just preparing students for tomorrow. We’re protecting what tomorrow will need.
We don’t define who your child becomes, and we don’t manufacture an outcome. We protect the source. The future isn’t built by systems — it’s built by people. We don’t know exactly what tomorrow will need, but we trust that children already carry pieces of it. Our responsibility is to protect that light long enough for it to grow.
03The method
We create the conditions where that light keeps growing.
Our name is our method. Education rebuilds the academic foundation and pushes real mastery. Preparation grows confidence, voice, leadership, and self-knowledge through real-world experience. Two halves of one year — both built to give the light room to grow.
We protect who your child already is — because the world needs what only they can bring.
And the person behind it.
The founder
Built by a teacher who never stopped paying attention to sixth grade.
For fifteen years, I taught, coached, and supported students across middle school — and I kept coming back to sixth grade. It was the year they were still curious. Still hopeful. Still deciding who they wanted to become.
Most schools are built to move children along. I wanted to build one that stops — for a year — and pays attention.
Sixth grade deserves more than a transition. It deserves intention.
So I built EduPrep — a school for one grade, given the care that one year deserves. A place where a child is known, challenged, encouraged, and guided — not hurried past.
Shaped intentionally.
