Begin the conversation

Tell me about your kid. I'll tell you honestly if we're a fit.

This isn't an enrollment form. It's not a sales pipeline. It's how a real conversation starts — between you and the person who built this school.

Tell me a little about your kid and what brought you here. I read every message myself, and I'll write back.

After fifteen years with sixth graders, I'm convinced this is the year a child starts deciding who they are — which is exactly why every conversation here starts with your child, not the school.

I read and respond to every inquiry personally.

You'll hear back within 24 hours — usually sooner.

No pitch. No pressure. No obligation.

If EduPrep isn't the right fit for your kid, I'll tell you that honestly — and help you find what is.

A note from Jennifer

Jennifer Humphrey, founder

Jennifer Humphrey

Founder · 15 years in Montgomery classrooms · Mother

"I spent fifteen years watching sixth graders with more in them than a report card could show — kids who were starting to ask bigger questions about who they are, and quietly absorbing everyone else's answers instead of finding their own. I built EduPrep so they get to explore those answers for themselves. If that sounds like your child, I'd love to hear about them."

What happens after you reach out

No mystery. No pressure. Just four honest steps.

01

You hear back within 24 hours

I read your message personally and write back myself — not an automated email, not a brochure. A real reply, written for you.

02

We talk about your child

A 20–30 minute call where I learn about your kid specifically — who they are, where they are, what you're hoping for. You ask me anything you want.

03

You visit EduPrep

If the conversation feels right on both sides, you come see it for yourself. Meet the space. Watch what a day actually looks like. Bring your kid.

04

You decide — without pressure

No deadline games. No sales tactics. No obligation. If EduPrep is right for your family, you'll know. I trust that — and I trust you to know your kid.

Before you fill it out

A few questions. No pressure.

I keep this simple on purpose. I don't need your kid's GPA, test scores, or a list of activities. I need to know a little about who they are and what brought you here — so when we talk, it's a real conversation, not a scripted one.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions.

What is EduPrep Academy?

EduPrep Academy is a microschool designed specifically for sixth-grade students. We combine personalized academics (Education) with confidence, communication, leadership, and real-world experiences (Preparation) to help students grow academically and personally.

What is a microschool?

A microschool is a small learning community that offers a more personalized educational experience than a traditional classroom. Smaller enrollment allows students to be known, supported, and challenged as individuals.

Why sixth grade?

Sixth grade is one of the most important years in a child’s development — the year they begin asking the questions that shape everything: Who am I? Where do I fit? What am I good at? What do I have to offer? Spoken aloud or not, those questions get answered every day — through friendships, comparison, wins, losses, and the rooms a child spends time in. The only real question is whether your child gets to answer them, or everyone else does. EduPrep exists so a sixth grader gets to explore those answers for themselves.

Why only sixth grade?

Because sixth grade is a true turning point. Students step into a new environment, become far more aware of how they compare to others, and quietly start forming beliefs about who they are and what they’re capable of. After fifteen years working with sixth graders, I became convinced this is the year that deserves the most intentional attention — and the one most often rushed past. So we built a school for it, and it alone. We may grow from here — but sixth grade will always be where it begins.

What makes EduPrep different?

Most schools focus primarily on academics. We focus on both Education and Preparation. Education helps students build strong academic foundations. Preparation helps students develop confidence, communication skills, leadership, self-awareness, and a stronger understanding of who they are.

Will students still learn math, reading, science, and social studies?

Absolutely. Academic growth is a core part of our model. Students receive personalized academic work designed to strengthen their foundation, fill in anything they’ve missed, and challenge them with real, meaningful work.

How many students will be enrolled?

EduPrep is intentionally small. We believe students thrive when they are known, seen, and supported as individuals. Enrollment for our founding class will be limited.

Is EduPrep a private school?

EduPrep is a microschool learning community. During your conversation with our founder, we’ll walk you through exactly how the model works and answer any questions about enrollment and educational options.

What is a Founding Family?

Founding Families are the first families helping build EduPrep Academy. Founding Families receive priority enrollment, early access to information, and the opportunity to help shape the culture and community of the school. Learn more about becoming a founding family →

Where will EduPrep be located?

EduPrep will serve families in the Montgomery area. Final location details will be shared with interested families as they become available.

When will EduPrep open?

We are currently preparing for our inaugural founding class and are accepting interest from families who want to learn more.

How do I know if EduPrep is a good fit for my child?

The best way to find out is through a conversation. We start by learning about your child — who they are, what they’re drawn to, where they’re challenged, and what you’re hoping for. Together we’ll figure out whether EduPrep is the right fit.

How do I learn more?
What do you mean when you say every child is “capable of more”?

We believe every child arrives with interests, strengths, curiosities, and questions that rarely show up on a report card — and that most students never get enough room to discover what those things are. Our role isn’t to decide who a child should become. It’s to create the conditions where they can explore who they already are, what they’re capable of, and what they might one day contribute.

Explore it, discover it, grow it — and once a child can see it in themselves, it becomes something worth protecting.

The EduPrep environment

Where your kid will learn.

Small by design. Intentional by philosophy. Every detail of the EduPrep environment is built around one question: does this help the kid in the middle finally get paid attention to?
